Whether painting people, birds, dogs, cows, goats or eagles, they are all incarnations of himself, constituting an autobiographical monologue. Wang Pan-youn ‘s character was noble, having known the warmth of life and also its cold destitution, yet persevered in his love of painting, cultivating the lofty and proud temperament of the Chinese literati.
