In 1977, the John Simon Guggenhiem Foundation offered a grant to Ting to publish an art book, Red Mouth, which collected a series of erotic sketches and paintings. He painted "Hot Love"in the same year, the color of the girl's skin in the picture is blue, which is rare, like the summer sky and ocean, beautiful and attractive, he also used vivd colors on the background to create more layers in the pictures and a sense of a summer romance.
