+ OVERVIEW

This is a typical work painted by Xia Junna in the late 90's, the woman in the picture looks like the woman whom writer Chang Ai-ling portrayed in her book, love in a Fallen City?, although she is old, however she still has that eastern quality. The use of the famine world to present the pursuit of the artist's mind, is like meeing the love of life in dream and messed up like willow branches of spring in mind in the reality.

On her way to art, Xia Junna is the only painter who possesses egree zero of the writing, she has her individual style, and it seemed not to be effected by other styles, and she's like re-experiencing the time when she is studying literature in the picture, a life enlightenment just like a mature unmarried girl who seemed not sensible at the same time. Everyone can understand Xia Junna's works, for those who don understand paintings might say: here are youth hood, romance, passion and purity, deepness and freshness, solitary and hollowness in Xia Junna paintings.

For those who is familiar with art critiques might come up with Roland Barthes egree zero of the writing theory, indeed, she is creating her own egree zero of the painting? I, and is not disturbed, look at that clever color, soft lights, the woman, her freedom and her fairness, we can also discover how she painted the glass container, flowers and fruits. In Xia Junna's creations, there is no such thing as tradition, there are no strange ideas, and it's just a pure painting. Just like what she commented: wish to use the most simple tools, paints, and brushes to express the plenteous spiritual world of human, to reveal the real meanings under the presentation!
