This lot is made of zitan which is a precious wood and hard to carve with its density, modelled with a box and cover with four indented corners alternating with four gently lobed straight sides, all supported on a short key-fret bordered foot, on the top carved through the wood into an exquisitely arranged array of ruyi radiating from the center.
