+ OVERVIEW

Julian Opie, a British artist, was born in London and graduated from Goldsmiths, University of London in 1982. As one of the representatives of "New British Sculpture Movement" in the 1980s, he is good at depicting images linearly, presenting urban epitome, and life silhouettes of people. His large-scale public artworks are often combined with architecture to create contemporary landscapes full of rhythm. Select solo and group exhibitions include: Hayward Gallery, London (1993); MOMA, New York (2006-2007); Art Tower Mito, Japan (2008); Lisson Gallery, London (2008); Shanghai Expo, Shanghai (2010); IVAM, Valencia, Spain (2010).
