By 1960, the 38-year-old Chin Jun-Tso has come to the mature level in his artistic life. The tone of color he used was dark and placid; the style was largely influenced by cubism. That year he used the theme of lily and composed "Lily-1" and "Lily-2" The former was smaller in size with a single lily depicted; the latter was larger with five in a vase, which is now in permanent collection in Taiwan Provincial Museum (former National Taiwan Museum of Arts). In 1997, the "Retrospective Exhibition of Chin Jun-Tso"in Taiwan Provincial Museum showcased both of these works. In the exhibition catalog, two paragraphs on "Lily-1"read:

"The background in dark green and blue fully set of the elegant yet splendid white lily. Using peacock blue to depict the shadow of flowers, the work becomes vivid and lively. Random puce-colored lines outline the flower, which present the flower substantially among the dazzling colors."(Catalog, p.11)

"The painter maintained that a good painting is not necessarily complicated. The simplicity of this painting, the flower, is the toughest to interpret. Simple and neat image is instead harder to illustrate."(Catalog, p.25)
