Japanese artist Yudai Nishi first became fascinated with graffiti and street art after encountering a graffiti book during his student years. He later applied his own imagination and creativity to create works that invite viewers to perceive meanings beyond the surface. His signature style, described as “something that devours one’s vision and intoxicates the viewer” (目で呑み、酔えるもの), is characterized by bold black outlines that divide distinct blocks of color. Most of his works are titled Untitled, preserving a sense of déjà vu while leaving viewers with broader space for interpretation. Nishi’s works have attracted considerable attention in both the Japanese art world and the fashion industry, leading to collaborations with brands such as Nike and Adidas. His works have been exhibited both domestically and internationally, making him an active presence in the contemporary art scene.
