A BLUE AND WHITE ‘LOTUS’ CHARGER QING DYNASTY
Finely potted with shallow sides rising from a slightly tapered foot ring, well painted in an even cobalt blue on the interior with a bouquet of lotus blossoms, buds and leaves secured with a ribbon at the stem enclosed within double line border on the well, surrounded by a band of subsidiary composite flowers and mallow blossoms borne on leafy vines on the side below another band of foliate scrolls beneath the rim, the exterior similarly decorated with a further frieze of lotus scrolls above a band of keyfrets, the biscuit rim unglazed.
