Lin Yao-sheng 林耀生

Lin was born in Pingtung County, Taiwan, and graduated from Fine Arts Department of Chinese Cultural University in 1978. He gained M.F.A. Degree from Fontbonne University, Missouri in 1997. He uses watercolor as his main media. He was skilled in drawing and painting from life. In his work, he pursuits the richness of colors and layers as well as the flowing atmosphere. He was the first prize winner of watercolor category of Literary and Artistic Creation Award of Ministry of Education in 1982; merit award of Taiwan Provincial Fine Arts Exhibition in 1989. Lin participated in the Exhibition of the Taiwan watercolor association from 1985 to 2012; he also participated in the group exhibitions “Taiwanese contemporary watercolor paintings” in CKS Memorial Hall in Taipei, and in 2008-2009 the “One hundred years of watercolor in Taiwan” in National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung and National Museum of History in Taipei. Lin was a disciple of WU Cheng-yan.
