Born in 1982, Taipei, Taiwan, Lee Chen-dao received his B.F.A from the National Taiwan University of the Arts, and M.F.A. from National Taiwan Normal University. Lee became recognized after second place in “Geisai Taiwan” during his master’s year, a competition hosted by Japanese Artist Takashi Murakami. Lee later begin exhibiting in Murakami’s gallery, where he developed the fundamental of his Japanese painting style. From his paintings, he expresses delicate expressions with thin layers of paint; from perspective of realism, there is a hint of fantasy beneath his works which he uses to expose the cruel reality under sugar coatings. Lee has exhibited in the Taipei International Contemporary Art Fair, Tokyo, Japan, and the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts.
