Xiao Yu, also known as Chen Cheng-Long, was born in 1947 in Keelung City. He was graduated from Arts Faculty of the Chinese Culture University and followed Chiang Chao-Shen, Tseng Shao-Chiehs, Jin Qin-Bo, Wu Xuerang in art practice. He is a talented artist, excelled in all areas of literature, calligraphy, paintings and seal carving. He has been leading a secluded life since 1983 and started selling paintings for a living. With a preference to an austere lifestyle, his works reflected his personality of being unpolished, genuine and natural. His works were exhibited at the Hwa Kang Museum at the Chinese Culture University, the New Taipei Arts Center and the Keelung Cultural Center.
