Huang Chia-Ning 黃嘉寧

Huang Chia-Ning (b. 1979, Taipei, Taiwan) currently lives and works in Taichung. She graduated in 2010 from Tainan National University of the Arts. Her work is inspired by photography, capturing moments from daily life and expressing them through oil painting. Her delicate brushwork conveys sensory impressions, creating effects that push the boundaries of imagery.

Since participating in the Federated Art New Artist Award in 1999, Huang has gained recognition in the art world. She won the Kaohsiung Award in 2006 and received an Honorable Mention in the Taipei Arts Awards in 2007. Her works are part of collections at institutions such as the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, YAGEO Foundation, and Taishin Bank Foundation for Arts and Culture.

Huang’s art explores the balance between ideals and reality, constantly pushing her creative limits. Her exhibition history includes solo exhibitions like the 2008 "2006-2008 Works" at Ke Yuan Art Center and participation in various group exhibitions. Her works have also been showcased at major venues like the Taipei Fine Arts Museum.

Additionally, Huang has held multiple solo exhibitions at Lin & Lin Gallery, including "Path: Not Just Between Two Points" (2010), "The Landscape of That Time" (2011), "Those (Not) Left Behind" (2012), "A Room of One’s Own" (2013), "Presence" (2015), and "Engaging Reality, Pure Truth, and Responding Truth" (2020). These exhibitions highlight her ongoing exploration of the subtle balance between ideals and reality.
