Born in 1979 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, KOU acquired his M.F.A from Department of New Media Art, Taipei National University of the Arts in 2007. He now lives in Taipei. He attended the 51th La Biennale di Venezia, International Art Exhibition Taiwan Pavilion – “THE SPECTRE OF FREEDOM”, as the youngest Taiwanese artist, who participated in the exhibition. Later his art work “Lose Contact” was awarded Taipei Arts Awards for Grand Prize and S-An Cultural Foundation Sponsorship for the Plastic Art, and was invited to PILOT2 International Art Forum in London, UK with the international curator Nanjo Fumio’s reference. In 2006, he exhibited his work at the 1st Singapore Biennale. In 2007, he attended “Thermocline of Art - New Asian Waves”, at ZKM Center for Art and Media, in Karlsruhe, Germany, and later his first solo exhibition “Mutation” was nominated for the 6TH Taishin Visual Art Award. He invited to exhibit his work at 5TH Seoul International Media Art Biennale –“TUEN AND WIDEN” and co-planed the exhibition Penumbra: Contemporary Art from Taiwan with Australian curator Sophie McIntyre at Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum, University of South Australia, in Adelaide, Australia. In 2009, he was invited to exhibit his works at The Epic in the Everyday:Contemporary Video Art from Taiwan,PAN Palazzo Delle Arti Napoli in Napoli, Italy.
