CHEN Komi 郭香美

Born in Taipei, Komi Chen graduated from the Fine Arts Department of National Taiwan Normal University. She is a professional painter, and a member of the Taiwan Glazed Painting Association. The artist studied abroad at the University of Pittsburgh and participated in exhibitions at domestic and international galleries, including the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and Dongzhi Gallery. The artist's father, Kuo Hsueh-hu, was a pioneering Taiwanese glazed painting artist, and the mother, Lin A-chin, was also a painter, who studied under the Japanese painter Kyo Haru Gotō. The artist’s siblings also achieved significant success: Kuo Sung-tsun as a renowned writer, Kuo Chen-hsiang as a dedicated art educator, and Kuo Sung-nien excelling in painting. The entire family has made outstanding contributions and impacts in the fields of art education and literature.
