Ayaïro 曽根田絢香
Japanese 1991
Ayaïro was born in 1991 and graduated from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies’ English Department. Born and raised in the Japanese rural area, she is known for painting Satoyama landscape colorfully as background and depicting cute but lonely images of children playing. Recently, the artist hopes to focus on the Showa period’s scenery, merging nostalgia and modernity to portray good old pure images. Ayaïro won the Award of Excellence in 2020 from the Japanese magazine Illustration’s Choice of the Year Award. Her solo exhibition experiences include 2021 “Child of Satoyama” at Jike Studio, Tokyo, 2022 “Gifts from Heaven'' at Waluso Gallery, London, 2022 “Southern Breeze” at Galerie Ovo, Taipei, and 2022 “A Little Journey” at Light House Gallery, Tokyo. She has also participated in several art fairs in Taipei, Seoul, Busan, and Kobe since 2019.
