YAO Hsu-teng 姚旭燈

Born in Yunlin, Taiwan, the political science course of Takushoku University. He went to France to study for one year. Annul of Japan Art has elected Yao as the great painter for Japanese painting (gouache), the only one painter who has Chinese origin. Many individuals, as well as public and private institutions, collect and display his paintings. His painting covers themes of mountains, rivers, animals, flowers, and landscapes. His paintings emphasize surrealism and dynamism, as well as the aspiration for spiritual values. He has held over 40 exhibitions in Taiwan, Japan, and South Korean cooperation with museums and the Mitsukoshi department store. In 1992, he reveived the prize of the outstanding young persons of the world. Now, Yao is residing abroad in Japan all the year round.
