Born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang in 1957, Lu Qi graduated from Zhejiang Academy of Art (now China Academy of Art) oil painting department in 1982. Once taught northwest nationality college fine arts department and Wenzhou's normal school fine arts department. His works was selected many times by the national art exhibition, and was sent to American, French, Japanese, South Korean, Malaysian and Hong Kong, Taiwan to exhibit. He held two solo exhibitions in Taiwan, traveled to Italy to carry on the artistic exchange and the inspection, and travel to over ten countries in Europe. During his Italy period, He conducted six person of oil paintings joint exhibition, and attained the artistic exchange contribution prize from the dean in the Bologna Art Academy.
