Juan de la Rica (b. 1979) is a Spanish painter based in Bilbao. He received his BFA from the University of the Basque Country in 2007. Since then, he has exhibited his work in many national and international solo and group shows. He likes to paint with flat and saturated colors, and with synthetic and clean lines. The themes of his paintings are varied, such as still lifes, portraits, mythological scenes... He usually approaches these topics with irony and humor, and he likes to suggest open narratives, so that the viewer makes his own movie.
